Kensington and Norwood Writers' Group

The Kensington and Norwood Writers’ Group began in November 1986 as a series of workshops run by well-known writer Elizabeth Mansutti. Funding from the Kensington and Norwood Council supported these workshops and the resulting anthology, A Parade of Writers. Early members of the group were Barbara Bell, Meredith Ides, Kurt Von Trojan and Jules Koch.
The group became an incorporated body and its second anthology, Inkslingers Inc. followed in1989.
Originally meeting in the basement rooms of the Kensington and Norwood Institute Library 'the Dungeon', the group moved in 1989 to the Music Room at Loreto Convent, later moving to the Hungarian Club in Osmond Terrace, Norwood. The Kensington & Norwood Writers' Group currently meets in the Don Pyatt Room of the Norwood Town Hall, at the junction of George St and The Parade Norwood.
